A car chase in Cedar Falls on Sunday night led to the arrest of a man. Police were called to the University Avenue HyVee on Sunday night on a report of a suspicious man. When police attempted to contact the man he drove off in his vehicle. Police chased the man now identified as 45 year old Matthew Tarkett, however, he was able to elude police who called off the chase around 11:15. Nearly 5 hours later police located the vehicle again and were able to arrest Tarkett. He has been charged with eluding, two counts of reckless driving and multiple traffic violations.
