Cedar Falls has passed a mask mandate, according to KWWL. The City Council approved the mandate by a 4-3 vote Tuesday night. The mandate will apply to anyone 5 or older. It states that any person who is in public and cannot stay six feet apart from others must wear a mask. This applies to outdoor public areas as well as indoor public areas such as businesses and city buildings. The mask mandate will also apply to those using public transportation or private car services. There are a few exemptions. Those include anyone who has trouble breathing or anyone engaged in a public safety role. The mandate goes into effect immediately and will last for six weeks. Waterloo has already passed a similar mandate in their city.
