A Cedar Falls student has received a $10,000 donation for her charity from US Cellular, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 17 year old Aaliyah Tournier was surprised with the donation at halftime of the boys basketball game on Friday night. Tournier began her cause, Furries4Fosters, when she was 13 years old. She noticed that when foster children came to her family’s home that they were comforted when she shared her stuffed animals and blankets with them. She partnered with Cedar Valley Angels to provide a tote bag with an animal and blanket to each foster child. She has also worked with the Iowa Department of Human Services and Allen Child Protection Center.
