A Charles City man has reached a plea deal after being charged with 25 separate crimes, according to KIMT. 39 year old Corey Byers entered guilty pleas to three counts of forgery and one of burglary of a motor vehicle. He was originally charged with 21 counts of forgery, one of ongoing criminal conduct, and three of 3rd degree burglary. Byers issued 21 forged checks to businesses such as Fareway, KwikStar, Pizza Hut, and Triumph Surplus. He also burglarized three vehicles. His crime spree lasted throughout September and October. He will be sentenced on May 30th.
