A Charles City man died when a bus hit his vehicle after he failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Troopers said it happened about 8:30 a.m. Thursday at 270th Street and Packard Avenue, about 10 miles southwest of Charles City and 11 mile southwest of Nashua.
72-year-old Harold Vermeer was driving an SUV south on Packard Avenue and entered into the path of a westbound bus. The bus driver went to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
