A Charles City man has been sentenced to two days in jail for breaking into his ex girlfriend’s home and assaulting her, according to KIMT. 29 year old Luis Gonzalez Herrera broke down a locked and dead-bolted door at his ex-girlfriend’s home on April 12th. Once inside, he hit, pushed, and grabbed the woman. He then threw her phone on the ground and stepped on it. He pleaded guilty to one count of Domestic Abuse Assault- 2nd offense. In addition to the two day jail sentence he must also pay $430 in fines.
