A sentence has been handed down to a Charles City man in a dog poisoning case, according to KIMT. 31 year old Christopher Dann was sentenced to time served after pleading guilty to animal neglect. He was arrested in March of last year along with a couple from Nashua, Anthony and Jennifer Hoffman. Police say the two men killed another person’s dog by poisoning it and then keeping it in a freezer. The case broke when a child living in the Hoffman’s home told authorities that his uncle had admitted to poisoning the dog. The child also said his uncle threatened to put the same poison used on the dog in the child’s milk. Anthony Hoffman has already pleaded guilty to animal neglect and was fined $65. Charges were dropped against Jennifer Hoffman.
