A Charles City man has won $10,000 on a scratch ticket, according to KIMT. Virgil Houdek entered the Love’s Travel Stop in Floyd and asked for a Money Madness, when he was told they were out he settled for a game called $100,000 Mega Crossword. Houdek says he just scanned the ticket at the machine without actually playing the ticket and received the message that he had just won $10,000. He says he took a picture of the screen and sent it to several people. His brother replied with, “Fake news.” Houdek’s prize is the 64th $10,000 prize handed out in that game.
