A former Charles City Catholic priest accused of sexually abusing boys at a Dubuque school in the 1980s has had the charges against him dismissed, according to KCRG. Five counts of Sexual Abuse were filed against Father Leo Riley after allegations were made by multiple former altar boys at the Resurrection School in Dubuque. The allegations ranged from 1984 to 1986. The court determined, however, that the statute of limitations had run out and Riley could not be charged. Riley currently serves a Catholic Church in Florida, where he is also facing a lawsuit from a former student who says Riley sexually abused him at a school there. Attorneys for Riley say he vigorously denies the claims and has successfully passed two polygraph examinations, conducted by two different former FBI Special Agents who are experts in polygraphs. Riley served Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City from 1986 to 1990.
