Charles City Sex Offender Sentenced

A Charles City man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to lascivious acts with a child, according to the Charles City Press. 25 year old James Foster III was arrested in September for sexually abusing a child between the ages of 6 to 8. He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge in December. He was sentenced to up to 10 years in jail and a $750 fine but those were both suspended. Instead Foster will serve up to five years of probation and will be placed in the Beje Clark Residential Facility in Mason City. Foster must also wear an ankle monitor and cannot have contact with minors. A no-contact order with the victim has been also put in place for the next five years. Foster must also register on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.
