A Charles City teenager has been sentenced after pleading guilty to arson and vandalism, according to KIMT. 17 year old Charles Armstrong, Jr was one of several people accused of setting a train car on fire and damaging windows of several vehicles back on March 23rd. More than $1,500 in damage was done, according to court documents. Armstrong pleaded guilty to 2nd degree arson and 2nd degree criminal mischief. He was given a deferred judgment and has now been sentenced to three to five years of probation and must pay restitution. Should he successfully complete his probation, the conviction will be removed from his record.
