A child was taken to the hospital after a fire at an apartment in Waterloo over the weekend. Waterloo Firefighters were called to the fire at Cedar Crest Apartments on Columbia Street around 8:00 Saturday night. The child was removed from the apartment and rushed to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time. The fire is thought to have started in the kitchen of one of the units.
