A former news anchor has been named the new Director of Strategic Communications for the city of Waterloo, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Tara Thomas-Gettman will begin her new role on April 1st. She was an anchor at KWWL before moving into the Director of School and Community Relations for Waterloo Schools for eight years. Most recently she has been the Executive Director of Communications for a Technology Adoption Firm. With the city Thomas-Gettman will be responsible for managing and coordinating all strategic communications, marketing, and branding efforts.
