The City of Fairbank is reminding its citizens not to flush anything down their toilets except human waste and tiolet paper. They say over the past few months, they have found a large amount of “flushable” wipes, for example Dude Wipes, in every major blockage they have responded to. Those products do not break down like toilet paper and cause clogs, equipment damage, and costly repairs to the sewer plant. Even if the package says “flushable”, they are not. Other things that should not be flushed include baby wipes, disinfecting wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, and cotton swabs.
