The city of Waverly is asking residents to inspect their mailboxes to see if they are properly installed in preparation for the upcoming winter months. Improperly installed mailboxes may be damaged by snow plows or other service vehicles if they extend too far out of from the curb.
Waverly Public Services Supervisor Brian Sullivan gives the recommended dimensions for mailbox placement:
Due to increasing costs, the city will no longer replace improperly installed mailboxes at risk of being damaged.
