Clarity Given on Construction Near Janesville

Some clarity has been provided for the road construction along Highway 218 north of Janesville. The project includes moving a section of 218 to the west and adding an interchange at 260th Street, as well as relocating Maple Street. The project was designed in two separate phases, one that included building the bridges for the interchange and moving Maple Street and another that will include building the rest of the new roadway and the paving. The first phase was finished in the early Spring, well ahead of schedule. The second phase is scheduled for letting to begin in July with more work getting underway a few weeks later. There will not be any traffic impacts to the current Highway 218 until next year. The whole project is expected to be completed in late November of 2026.
