The Clarksville School Board has approved the 2025-26 school calendar which will feature a move to a four day school week. In the new calendar, the school week for students will run from Tuesday through Friday. The school day will run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. Roughly every other Monday will be utilized as Professional Development for staff. There are also four Mondays throughout the year in which school will be in session. Clarksville is at least the 20th school district in the state of Iowa to move to a 4 day school week. Most of those districts are in rural areas of the state. Back in March Superintendent Bryan Boyson told us they are hopeful the move will help attract and retain staff and students who have the choice open-enroll. He said the move will not likely save the school money.
