The Salvation Army of Waterloo and Cedar Falls has begun its public Red Kettle Coin Auction, according to KWWL. Items that are available include 12 1 oz. US American Gold Eagle Coins, a 2015 Special Service Force Gold Coin, a 1910 Indian Head 2 ½ Dollar Gold Coin, an 1855 California Gold ½ Dollar Coin, an 1854 California Gold ½ Dollar Coin, a 1 oz. Silver Coin, and a 1 oz. Silver Bar. All items have a minimum bid. Bidding is open through 3pm on Friday. People can bid on multiple items. The Salvation Army is currently $49,000 short of its Christmas goal.
