Community Leader Gets Prison for Impregnating Teen

A former community leader in Waterloo is going to prison for impregnating a 15 year old girl, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 44 year old Jamodd Sallis has been sentenced to up to 15 years in prison after being convicted of third degree Sexual Abuse. Sallis had sex with the 15 year old girl on multiple occasions at his home in Waterloo and while on trips to the Quad Cities for church choir practice. At trial Sallis admitted he had sex with the girl but that it only happened in Davenport and not in Waterloo. His sentence was enhanced because Sallis has 22 prior Theft, Forgery, and firearm charges. He is still awaiting trial for allegedly having sexual contact with a 12 year old girl in his home in 2021. He is also awaiting sentencing for showing his genitals to a 15 year old girl in 2019. Sallis served on the committee tasked with replacing the Waterloo Police griffin logo.
