If you travel on U.S. 20 between U.S. 63 and Hudson Road/Iowa 58 south of Waterloo/Cedar Falls you need to be aware of an upcoming concrete pavement replacement project that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.
Beginning on Monday, March 23, weather permitting, crews will begin the initial phases of replacement of the concrete pavement on east- and westbound U.S. 20 from the Hudson Road/Iowa 58 interchange to the U.S. 63 interchange. The first phase of the project will include closing the outside lane on westbound U.S. 20 to complete full-depth patch work. This will be followed by inside lane closures in both directions so median crossovers can be constructed.
The initial work on the project is expected to be completed by mid-May, weather permitting.
