Contentious Waverly Council Meeting

It was a contentious meeting of the Waverly City Council Monday night. With three of the council members walking out of the meeting. Lampe Reznicek and Gade walked out about an hour into the meeting. Tim Kangas, who was last to speak, announced he felt he needed to speak for the voters of Waverly stating he felt like right now “Waverly is a divided city.” He then listed things that had been voted on the past four years. Kanga’s comments though not directly naming the three were about the council members that walked out. Gade then returned and stood behind Kangas’ chair. Making a hang ten sign into the camera of the Newspaper editor. At the end of the meeting Mayor Infelt acknowledged the presence of his opponent, Dean Soash, thanked him for his presence at the meeting and said that if Soash were to win the election that he would fully support him.

Opposition to the appointments of new committee members was discussed. The three council members voiced their opinions that they would like for those discussions to happen after tomorrow’s election and at the December 18th City Council meeting.
