The wind quickly turned a controlled brush fire into an uncontrolled brush fire Tuesday near Charles City, according to KIMT. Fire crews battled the blaze for five hours before finally putting it out. Five to seven acres were burned, aided by heavy winds. Nobody was injured in the fire and no structures were destroyed, although it did get very close to some homes in the area.
