A woman recently convicted of forgery received a ten year prison sentence at the Bremer County Courthouse this week. 36-year-old Mindy Riley was facing 30 counts of Forgery and theft and faced more than 100 years in prison but the prosecution dropped all but 5 counts of Forgery in exchange for a guilty plea. Riley was also ordered to pay $221,000 in restitution to the victims John and Megan Eimers, they were also awarded just under $500,000 in damages in a separate civil case.
