A Charles City man has admitted to stealing copper and other items from a farm in Hancock County, according to KIMT. 26 year old Bret Freiberg has now pleaded guilty to first degree Theft. Investigators believe Freiberg and 29 year old Madison Clay of Cedar Falls went to Sparboe Summit Farm near Goodell on several occasions between January and April of last year and stole over $10,000 worth of copper wire and other items and caused over $10,000 worth of damage. Freiberg will be sentenced on March 3rd. Clay has pleaded not guilty to first degree Theft, Ongoing Criminal Conduct, first degree Criminal Mischief, and third degree Burglary. Her trial is set to begin on March 4th.
