A man was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after a crash in Waterloo, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 45 year old Casey Sanderson of La Porte City was traveling south on Highway 218 near West 6th Street when he began to experience mechanical issues with the steering system. He hit a concrete barrier before leaving the roadway and careening into a tree in the median. Firefighters had to cut through part of the vehicle to rescue him. He was taken to Allen Hospital for apparent leg injuries. A 7 year old child also in the vehicle at the time escaped with just minor injuries.
