A crash along Highway 3 on Thursday afternoon sent two people to the hospital. John Egts of Shell Rock was headed east on Highway 3 waiting to turn onto Aspen Avenue when he was rear ended by Janette Shannon of Parkersburg. The passenger’s side tire and wheel separated from Shannon’s vehicle and struck a vehicle driven by Jersey Rosteck of Parkersburg. Egts was taken to the Waverly Health Center while Shannon was taken to Allen Hospital. Rosteck was not injured. An investigation revealed Shannon was in possession of methamphetamine. She has been charged with Failure to Stop in Assured Clear Distance, Possession of a Controlled Substance- third or subsequent offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Drugged Driving investigation is still ongoing.
