A collision on Highway 3 on Tuesday sent a Sumner man to the hospital. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene at the intersection of Highway 3 and V-62. An investigation determined that 72 year old Verna Lansing was operating a 2004 GMC Sierra and was towing a 1989 GMC Sierra operated by 76 year old Keith Lansing. 52 year old Kimberly Pont allegedly rear ended the 1989 Sierra pushing it into the 2004 Sierra. Pont’s Trailblazer and the 1989 Sierra were both considered total losses. The 2004 Sierra suffered $2,000 worth of damage. Keith Lansing was taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo for treatment of injuries not thought to be life threatening.
