The first Iowa Crop Progress Report of the year is out starting off with bad weather. Last week, there was only half a day across the state good for fieldwork. About 2% of the state oats are planted, several days behind the average. Iowa is doing pretty well in water, the majority of the state has adequate moisture, about 73% of both topsoil and subsoil levels. South Central and South East Iowa are still struggling, they were one of the hardest hit by drought last year. Both areas are nearly 40% short to very short on moisture.
