The USDA released the latest Iowa Crop Report and it shows that as of yesterday Sunday 87% of the corn crop had silked, one week ahead of last year and 11 days ahead of the five year average. Seven percent of the corn crop had reached the dough stage, three days ahead of last year and two days ahead of average. Corn condition rated 79% good to excellent. 81% of the soybean crop was blooming with 40% of the soybeans setting pods, five days ahead of last year and six days ahead of the average. Soybean condition rated 76% good to excellent.
