A Hampton man has been sentenced to up to 50 years in prison for sexually abusing children at the daycare in which he worked, according to KIMT. 28 year old Benjamin Green was convicted of three counts of second degree Sexual Abuse. The abuse happened to three children at the Hampton Community Christian Daycare between 2014 and 2017. He pleaded not guilty and his trial was rescheduled eight times before finally beginning in June. After his conviction, Green was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison on the first two charges to be served consecutively, and up to 25 years in prison on the third charge but that one will be served concurrently. Green must serve at least 70% of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole. If he is released he will have to register as a sex offender. He must also pay less than $10,000 to the Crime Victim Compensation Program.
