Deferred Judgement for Woman Involved in Waterloo Hospital Shooting

A Des Moines woman has been granted a deferred judgment for her role in a shooting outside a Waterloo hospital in 2020, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 24 year old Reneka Philipp was at Flirt’s Gentlemen’s Club with Neko Newsome that night when Newsome got into an argument with Kenyatta Alexander, allegedly after Alexander made an inappropriate comment to Philipp. The argument continued at a convenience store and when Alexander left to pick up his girlfriend at MercyOne Medical Center Philipp and Newsome followed him. As Alexander was leaving the parking lot with his girlfriend a .45 caliber bullet came through the windshield and grazed Alexander in the neck. Newsome and Philipp were later stopped by police who located the weapon used in the shooting. Philipp pleaded guilty to charges of Intimidation with a Weapon and Willful Injury causing Bodily Injury.
