Demo Company Chosen for Elementary School

The company that will be responsible for demolishing Lowell Elementary in Waterloo has been selected, according to KWWL. Lehman Trucking and Excavating set a bid of nearly $300,000 for the project which was passed unanimously by the Waterloo School Board. Lehman was also the company that demolished the Orange and Logan schools in the past. The work will begin on the building in April and is expected to be wrapped up in June. The roof at Lowell partially caved in after a heavy snow last winter. Nobody was hurt in the collapse. It was determined that the best course of action was to open a new school instead of rebuilding Lowell. The new school is expected to be ready for students beginning in August of 2021.
