Residents will have a smaller window of time to shoot off fireworks in Denver following adoption of a new ordinance.
Monday the City Council approved limiting the use of fireworks around Independence Day, Christmas and New Year holidays to about a week at both time periods following the third reading of the ordinance.
Consumer fireworks will be allowed in the city starting the weekend before July 4 through the weekend after the holiday and from Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, to New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. People can discharge them on their own property or other places where they’ve been given consent by the owner.
