Governor Kim Reynolds will allow the Public Health Disaster Proclamation to expire at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday. This effectually moves Iowa from the response phase to the recovery phase of the COVID-19 emergency. All coronavirus reporting will be moved from the COVID-dedicated website to the Iowa Department of Public Health’s general website. Also, the Iowa codes that were waived during the disaster proclamation will be enforced again.
Bremer County Health Department Administrator Lindley Sharp explained the reasoning behind this move.
The health department will still have saliva tests available.
