Waverly-Shell Rock superintendent David Hill joined us Tuesday on The Breakfast Club. One of the things he spoke with us about was the financial pinch public schools are facing. He says increased enrollment over the years has helped the district combat a tighter budget.
Last year after years of increases the district was down 16 students. Hill says he expects enrollment to drop slightly again this year.
Hill says he isn’t sure yet how much the enrollment figures are affected by students going to private schools or simply a decreasing number of kids in the community.
School registration is underway now for W-SR. Anyone needing help registering a child can call 319-559-2858 for assistance.
