A Waterloo woman has been arrested after a dog was found deceased in a crate and left behind after the woman was evicted, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 43 year old Sarah Legler was evicted from her home in April. After she had vacated the premises, a dog was found dead inside a crate with no food or water. An examination found that the dog had urine burns, long nails, and evidence that the death was partially due to undernutrition. Legler was arrested last week and charged with Animal Neglect Causing Death. She told police the dog would not eat and she could not afford to take the dog to the vet.
