Dog Rescued from House Fire in Waterloo

A dog had to be rescued by firefighters in Waterloo on Monday, according to KWWL. Crews were called to the 1400 block of Grant Avenue where a fire had broken out in the basement of a home. Everyone inside the home had made it out by the time firefighters arrived on scene. One person was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The family dog was rescued by firefighters and eventually returned to the owners. The home suffered significant heat and smoke damage. The American Red Cross was called in to assist those displaced by the fire.
