The Charles City Police Department and the Floyd County Search and Rescue team saved a dog from the ice on the Cedar River on Friday. The dog ran onto the ice near the Immaculate Conception ballfields when it fell through and was unable to get out. The dog was taken to the Avenue of the Saints Animal Hospital where it quickly recovered and returned to its home.
