A Monday night shooting in Waterloo injured a dog trying to go to the bathroom, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Around 8:30 Monday night an 11 year old boy let his dog, Leo, a pit bull, out for a bathroom break. Just then a man came running down the street chased by a vehicle. A shot was fired, although it is unclear if it was from the man running or from the car. The bullet missed the boy but grazed the leg of the dog. The boy’s mom was able to patch up the dog’s wound. Police collected a single spent 9mm shell casing as evidence. They say this was the first of two shootings on Monday night. The other happened about an hour and 15 minutes later about a mile west of this shooting. It is unclear if the shootings are related.
