There are two Iowa Department of Transportation projects in Black Hawk County beginning on Monday that may slow traffic. First, a concrete pavement replacement project on Iowa 27/58 from Highway 20 to just north of Ridgeway Avenue will close the inside lanes in order for workers to replace the pavement and install a permanent median barrier. That project is expected to last until early May.
The other project includes the hot-mix asphalt paving of both the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 380 between Highway 150 and the Black Hawk County line. This project will also include paving the bridge deck on the northbound I-380 bridge over Highway 150. Long-term lane closures will be utilized throughout the project. There will be changeable message signs in place in advance of the work zones to alert drivers of the work taking place and the possible delays.
