Waverly, along with the Iowa Department of Transportation hosted their first public information meeting about the reconstruction of Bremer Avenue last night. The meeting was meant to show the public the details on the upcoming road work, and to get the people’s opinions on the matter.
Waverly city engineer Mike Cherry says they are engaging the public a year in advance to give them the opportunity to speak up and be heard. He says the people are most worried about accessing certain places while the construction is going on.
Cherry says this was the first of three public information meetings that will take place this year. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2017.
