A traffic stop of a Chevy Cavalier with a license plate for Dodge Intrepid in Bremer County resulted in drug charges. The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office says they pulled over the car on Highway 3 near Highway 63 for the plate violation. An investigation found that the driver, 33 year old Nathan Williams, of Independence, had his license barred for being a habitual offender, revoked for OWI test refusal, and suspended for being an habitual offender and non payment of fines. The Sheriff’s K9, Mo, also indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle. A search found nearly 61 grams of Methamphetamine, plastic baggies, a digital scale and a glass pipe. Williams has been charged with Intent to Deliver More Than 5g but less than 5kg of Meth, Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp, Driving While License Barred, Driving While License Revoked, Driving While License Suspended, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fraudulent Use of Registration, and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability. His bond has been set at $100,000.
