According to KWWL the Waverly Health Center provided more than $2.5 million in community benefits and served 29,689 patients in 2025, according to new data from the Iowa Hospital Association’s annual community benefit and economic impact report.
The hospital employed 814 people and paid $65.6 million in salaries and wages in 2025. WHC continued investing in services, facilities, supplies and workforce development to strengthen the local economy.
The statewide report found that Iowa hospitals collectively provided more than $1.4 billion in community benefits and employed 146,616 individuals. Hospitals provide over $10.4 billion in wages across the state, and hospital expenses accounted for over $24.8 billion of Iowa’s gross domestic product.
Waverly Health Center is municipally owned and operates independently without local property tax funding. Revenue generated through patient care services is reinvested into facilities, technology, equipment, workforce development and programs that enhance access to high-quality health care for the region.
