According to KWWL, a United Express flight going from Chicago to Mason City had to make an emergency landing in Waterloo Wednesday night, after its left engine went out. The right engine was able to power the plane safely to the Waterloo Regional airport, where it made a safe landing.
The plane diverted from its original flight path around 8:00 p.m., going south and then west to Waterloo. It landed around 8:30 and the passengers unloaded around 9:00.
According to Waterloo Fire, there were no injuries to the 14 passengers on board. The passengers waited at the airport until about 10:15, when a new plane came to take them to Mason City. They landed safely there around 11:00.
