The City of Fairbank has announced that they plan to fill a vacant City Council position by appointment. Councilman Matt Coffin has resigned leaving his seat open. The seat will be filled at the Council’s regular meeting on February 26th unless the electors of Fairbank file a petition to hold a special election instead. If no petition is filed the newly appointed councilmember will hold the position until the next election. Anyone wishing to be considered for the position should submit a request in writing to the city clerk’s office by noon on Thursday, February 22nd.
