The City of Fairbank has received a $15,000 grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association. Fairbank will use the money to upgrade and enhance their ball diamonds. They say this contribution will help them provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for their young athletes and their families. As part of their summer grant program the BHCGA also awarded more than $7,000 to the Riverview Center in Waterloo for sustainable sexual assault intervention services and nearly $11,000 to Operation 11th Hour in Independence for a handicap accessible fishing pier.
