A family of five and their four guinea pigs were able to escape a house fire in Waterloo on Friday night, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Fire crews were called to 1925 Falls Avenue around 6:30pm. When they arrived they found flames going up the backside of the house. They were able to put the flames out within minutes. The family had grilled burgers earlier in the evening. That charcoal grill is believed to be where the fire started.
