A Charles City man has been sentenced to jail time after killing another man in a drunk driving collision in Nora Springs, according to KIMT. 59 year old Timothy Hoy was convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter and Serious Injury by Vehicle. He crossed the center line in Nora Springs on July 25 of last year and collided with a vehicle carrying Stephen Miles, Tyler Miles, and Jackson Gobeli. 41 year old Stephen Miles was killed in the crash. Tyler Miles and Gobeli were also injured. Hoy’s blood alcohol level at the time was measured at .179, more than twice the legal limit to drive. He was sentenced to five years behind bars and must pay $150,000 to the heirs of Stephen Miles.
