The father of a baby found dead in his swing in Alta Vista has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. According to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier 29 year old Zachary Koehn was sentenced on Tuesday morning after being convicted of first degree murder in October. Four month old Sterling Koehn’s maggot infested body was found in August of 2017. Court documents say that he died of dehydration, malnutrition, and infection from diaper rash. An entomologist testified that the maggots indicated that the child’s diaper had not been changed in at least a week. The mother of Sterling Koehn, 21 year old Cheyanne Harris, is scheduled to go to trial in January.
