Federal Gun Conviction Against Waterloo Woman

A Waterloo woman has been convicted on federal gun charges after purchasing weapons used in two separate shootings, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 23 year old Alyssa Jo Stovall was charged with one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Drug User. She bought a 9mm pistol from Scheels in Cedar Falls that was used in a shooting on July 26 of 2020. She also bought a 9mm handgun from Mr. Guns in Waterloo in July of 2020. That gun was used in a shooting on August 2 of 2020. Police later found loose marijuana flakes in her car, heard her talking about her marijuana use in a recorded phone call with her boyfriend, Dumarkus Gibbs, and found drug paraphernalia when they approached her home in July. Gibbs was indicted on charges resulting from the shooting involving the gun from Mr. Guns. He is scheduled to go to trial in March.
